The transformation phaseis at the heart of the shift toward the Learning Communities model. It is the moment when the collective vision begins to take shape through concrete actions and structural changes within the school.
It’s not just about “doing new things,” but about rethinking how schools are organized so that all students can achieve academic success and foster a better sense of community.
Key fact:Transformation is an ongoing process. It has no set end date, as the community continues to evaluate and envision new improvements year after year.
Here are the key aspects of this stage:
From Utopia to Action
After defining the “school model” our community desires (during the Dream phase) and prioritizing the steps to take (during the Priority Selection phase), the transformation process sets in motion theEducational Success Initiatives (ESI).
Key features:
- Strategic planning:Joint committees (comprising teachers, parents, students, and volunteers) are formed to manage each priority.
- Opening the school:The school is no longer a fortress. The doors are opening so the community can participate in the learning process.
- Dialogic approach:Everything is based on equal dialogue to resolve conflicts and manage the classroom.
Implementation of Successful Initiatives
It is during this phase that the classroom undergoes physical and methodological changes. The most common tools are:
- Interactive Groups:The class is divided into small, mixed-ability groups, each led by an adult volunteer, to accelerate learning.
- Dialogic Discussions:A collective exploration of meaning in classical literature, art, or science.
- Community Involvement in Education:Family members don't just attend events; they participate in the educational process and decision-making.
Joint Committees
For the transformation to be genuine and sustainable, the responsibility does not rest solely with the management team.Joint Committees are formed:

Last January, the administration team, the teaching staff from the learning communities, and the class representatives met to form working committees and set dates.

Here are some of the dreams from our school community—they’re truly unique. We have our work cut out for us in making a selection.

CURRICULUM COMMITTEE

Our joint committees are working together to determine how and where to locate the Corner of Dreams, a space designed to hold the dreams we hope to realize soon.
Through dialogue, creativity, and collaboration, we seek to find the most suitable location and the best way to bring this vision to life, turning it into a gathering place filled with hope, participation, and great ideas. ✨🌈🤝
Here’s a look at our previous “Corner of Dreams”—it turned out great. I’m sure we’ll come up with something amazing together.
